General description of the collection: The Don Rickey, Jr., collection includes miscellaneous letters, articles, clippings, and ephemera mostly dealing with the American Civil War, post-Civil War, and Indian Wars that he used as materials for his book and magazine articles. There is a lot of good material on the Wagon Box Fight, but also good original letters and copies of diaries for other Indian War campaigns. There are also copies of questionnaires from men who served in unit during the Indian Wars.
